The National Park is home to Cradle Mountain, the sixth tallest Tasmanian mountain, at 1,545 metres above sea level. Lake St Clair is Australia's deepest natural freshwater lake, with a depth of 167 metres. You will see black currawong, wombats, echidnas, platypus, quolls and Tasmanian devils.

Mount Wellington
Mount Wellington stands at 1,271 metres above sea level, and there is often a coating of snow in winter and summer. It is the Wellington Mountain Range's main summit in Wellington Park Reserve. In the indigenous language of Tasmania, Palawa Kani, the mountain is called kunanyi, which translates in English simply as “mountain.” The platform from the summit of Kunanyi offers excellent views across Hobart, Bruney Island and the stunning River Derwent.
