Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle
Take the 120km drive to Neuschwanstein Castle. The drive starts on the A96 motorway and goes through the Bavarian countryside. When you get to Landsberg am Lech, take the B17, also known as the romantic road to the castle.

The castle is one of the most photographed in the world and looks like something out of a fairytale. It sits high on a hill and has inspired stories such as Sleeping Beauty Castle. Alpsee Lake is nearby and worth calling while you are in the area.

Munich to the Bavarian Forest
This would be our number one choice when you rent a campervan in Munich. It's a 170km drive that you will never forget. Heading from Munich, you take the A92 motorway through some lovely landscapes. Along the way, you will pass small Bavarian towns that will make you feel like you have gone back in time. We recommend you stop at the town of Deffendorf; then, take the B533, which leads into the heart of the Bavarian Forest. It's the perfect place to relax, get away from it all, and be at one with nature.

Munich to Salzburg
This one is slightly different, but it's a way to get two countries into one trip. It's only about 150km drive, which is easily possible if you have the campervan for more than a few days without feeling rushed. You take the A8 out of Munich, a direct and scenic route through the countryside. Stop at Chiemsee Lake on the way and then take carry on the A8 that takes you to Salzburg.

Andechs Monastery
Located about 40km outside Munich, this is the perfect place for a day trip. It's not only an amazing building but also a brewery where you can sample some locally brewed beers. You can take a guided tour of the monastery to learn all about its history.

Ingolstadt
Ingolstadt is the home of the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot, the beer purity law. Car fans will love the Audi Museum. The old town, which includes lovely old buildings such as the Gothic Liebfrauenmünster church, is also worth a walk. It's a nice way to spend a day with your campervan in Munich, and plenty of campsites are on the city's outskirts.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen
It's a great little town with hiking, skiing, and climbing opportunities. The town is also famous for its ski resorts, which host international competitions and provide a winter wonderland for skiing and snowboarding. One of the main attractions is the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak. You can reach the summit via a cable car or cogwheel train, offering breathtaking Alps views.
