You could stop at a few places to break it up, including Stade, which is about 50k away and one of the oldest towns in northern Germany. After that, you could stop at Cuxhaven, a coastal town at the mouth of the River Elbe. They have the Wadden Sea, known for its tidal flats and birdlife. After that, carry on to Büsum, about another 40km away. It is a small harbour town with lovely beaches and the perfect place to take a boat trip.

Take the A24 motorway out of Hamburg, which will go through plenty of nice countryside. You could stop at a few places along the way, including Schwerin Castle, like something out of a fairytale.
