The Apollo team are friendly and relaxed. Pick-up and drop-off are slow – each takes at least two hours, as the on-site organisation is a bit chaotic. Warning: They tried to palm off a car on us with a serious stone chip in the driver’s field of vision. We insisted on a replacement. This took another two hours as we’d booked a specific 4WD model. Both cars had over 170,000 km on the clock but were technically sound. The documentation of pre-existing damage was done inaccurately, but was treated just as laxly upon return. There is virtually no briefing; you are referred to the app for everything. Some new components, such as a new awning, had been fitted, but we had to figure that out for ourselves. Route approvals were granted, but we had to actively ask for them. The local team were surprised that anyone would ask and then arranged for confirmation to be sent by email from head office. Overall, average to good, although we would have expected significantly more professionalism

Unfortunately, we had a really disappointing experience with the campervan, especially given how much it cost and the fact that we paid extra for the stress-free package. From early on, the engine warning light kept coming on. When we took the camper back to the Sydney depot, we were told they couldn’t scan it because the light wasn’t on at the time. As a mechanic, I know the fault code would still have been stored, but this was brushed off. The toilet was also leaking. We were told this was because it hadn’t been fitted correctly by us, but even after they said they’d fixed it, it continued to leak. There were also no blue toilet tablets supplied, so we had to buy our own. The door sensors kept going off throughout the trip, which was really frustrating. We raised this as well, but nothing was done about it. There were a number of basic things missing or not up to standard. The windscreen washer reservoir only had water in it, so we couldn’t properly clean bugs off the windscreen, which became a genuine safety issue while driving. The BBQ was dirty and unusable, and there was no lighter or matches provided for the gas hob. This caused a particularly stressful situation at 3am when we needed to boil water to make milk for our 4-month-old. With no way to light the hob, we had to go out searching for an open shop in the middle of the night. It wasn’t just one problem, but lots of small issues that added up and completely took away from our holiday. Instead of relaxing, we were constantly worried about a campervan that cost us a lot of money. We paid for the stress-free package, but all we got was stress. We felt like our concerns weren’t taken seriously, and overall the experience was very disappointing. We’d appreciate this being looked into and some form of compensation for the impact this had on our trip.

We were generally satisfied with the vehicle. Unfortunately, we had stowaways on board throughout the entire four-week trip. The cockroaches hid in the cupboards and behind the wood panelling during the day. But at night, they would occasionally crawl around on us, which took some getting used to. We also couldn't get rid of the foul smell coming from the grey water tank. Although we thoroughly flushed the entire system three times, it kept smelling terribly of sulphur. Every 20 to 30 seconds, an acoustic alarm sounded to indicate that the sliding door was not closed. But it was closed, and sometimes it could only be opened with the help of someone outside. The Apollo service centre was very accommodating and addressed the problem immediately. Unfortunately, without success, as became apparent shortly afterwards. Fortunately, we were able to fix the problem ourselves. The camper van was well equipped, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space. The engine worked perfectly, so we were able to enjoy our trip with lots of wonderful impressions, just as we had hoped.

Everything was perfect, except for a few minor flaws/oversights in the cleanliness of the motorhome upon delivery. Excellent customer service, collection and delivery of the vehicle. Recommended.

On the whole, the camper was okay. The furnishings were profit-orientated. Partly very impractical and cheap workmanship. Sparsely equipped with crockery and cutlery. Unfortunately there were no mosquito nets except in one roof window. This is not really possible for Australia. Tyres were quite worn. Tyres should have been replaced urgently. Bathroom okay, but unfortunately without hand basin. Had to be done in the kitchen sink. Converting the seats into a bed was very awkward. We then never did it. Disadvantage, you can't get to the storage compartments under the seats. The engine and workmanship of the campervan are fine. However, this camper's equipment seems to be standard here. We have seen several with the same equipment, even from other providers.

14 days on the east coast of Australia: The handover and briefing on the vehicle were very helpful. The return was quick and uncomplicated. Apart from a few signs of wear inside and out, the vehicle and the on-board technology worked without any problems. It could have been a little cleaner in some places.

We hired the Mighty Deuce campervan for two people for four weeks on the ‘all-inclusive’ package. I’d rate both the vehicle and the service as good. The customer service in Brisbane, in particular, was outstanding! Brilliant. The vehicle is very spacious, drives well and was in good condition. We had a few issues with the side door (it got stuck) and some minor problems, but these didn’t affect our trip. One point deducted for the briefing in Melbourne. The staff member – who was probably still very inexperienced – only covered the absolute basics during the briefing, things that anyone with common sense could figure out. Any specific features of the van that later proved to be very important were left out. She was unable to answer a single question. She was clearly trying her best, but didn’t know what really mattered. All in all, I would recommend Mighty.

Friendly and efficient service, including at the intermediate stops, such as when changing the linen. Some items were missing, but we were able to obtain them from another location without any problems. However, these locations are only in major cities, so this can be an issue if you don’t pass through them. The campervan was well equipped

Overall, we were very satisfied. Unfortunately, the hot water did not work during the entire rental period. We also had problems with the refrigerator. But all in all, everything worked out great and we will book here again. Thank you very much.

The customer service is poor: both when picking up and dropping off the motorhome, the employee hardly had any time, and everything had to be done very quickly. There was hardly any explanation of the motorhome when we picked it up, and we were rushed when we dropped it off. When we returned the motorhome, thl also "scrounged" a taxi for us ("same price as Uber") – yeah, right! Uber would have cost 1/3 of the taxi fare. We had a problem with the roof (small hole) while on the road, reported this to On Road Assist by email (with photo) and also called them. On the phone, they said they would call me back. But then I heard nothing for 3 days, so I emailed again to say that we had temporarily repaired the roof ourselves with tape and tarpaulin. At least then I got a reply from On Road Assist, but it said that climbing onto the roof of the motorhome was not recommended! I would have expected professional customer service to immediately tell us where the nearest garage was where we could have the problem fixed. Finally, the bed linen we had also rented (or the mattress) apparently had bedbugs, so our son and I were completely bitten! Unfortunately, it took us a while to realise that these were bedbugs!

Great Mercedes truck with automatic transmission, comfortable. In my opinion, it lacks windows that open with mosquito nets at the rear on the right and left sides, like on the side door, to create a breeze and sleep with the windows open... Otherwise, everything is fine. Thank you. I will definitely rent it again.

The vehicle fitted the bill perfectly for our roadtrip. We had no major problems despite covering more than 1000km in 4 days. The van was even very pleasant to drive. However, the van had a few minor faults (gas bottle door that opened by itself, side door that didn't close properly) + the cleanliness wasn't great (there were traces of spilt drinks and a bit of dirt in the luggage traps). In terms of comfort, the lower bed is quite comfortable but a little small for 2 adults. The top bunk was a bit hard. Overall, we were satisfied with our road trip.

We spent six weeks travelling around Australia in the Polaris 2 and unfortunately have to say that the decision to book a motorhome with Star RV was the worst we could have made. We deliberately chose a relatively new vehicle in the hope of having a relaxing holiday. On Trustpilot, the company writes about its motorhomes: "Our well-designed motorhomes make optimal use of space. We offer an expert support team and have a 24-hour breakdown service" (excerpt). The opposite is true. The television blocked access to the vehicle via the side sliding door and repeatedly hit the vehicle's control display while driving, damaging it so that certain functions were no longer possible or incorrect values were displayed. If the rear left window was opened, the sliding door would rub against it. This could result in serious damage. The air conditioning on the roof was very poorly positioned at the front of the vehicle and had no effect in the rear seating area or sleeping area. Expert staff at the branches are not available at weekends. You are put off and told to come back the next working day. The 24-hour breakdown service via the hotline provided ends in a long queue, and when you describe the problems with the vehicle, help and feedback are promised but not actually provided. There is no feedback, or it only comes weeks later. Responses to emails are not forthcoming or take several days. The most serious defects: - The side step was defective and difficult to pull out. - The microwave was not secured and kept sliding out of the cupboard while driving. - The 2-burner stove kept cutting out. - The petrol filler cap could not be locked. - The skylight in the toilet could not be locked and opened while driving. - The windscreen wiper motor failed. - Permanent service warning (change engine oil) and too little oil in the engine. The breakdown service advised us not to continue driving. Another major problem was the second battery, which powered the sink, toilet flush, fold-down bed, lighting and refrigerator when the vehicle was not connected to 230V. This battery showed 0% after approx. 4 hours, despite the solar panels on the roof. This meant we were dependent on powered campsites, which incurred additional costs. Despite taking the vehicle to the branches several times, the second battery was not replaced. During our trip, we had to visit Star RV branches in Adelaide and Perth in addition to Melbourne, but unfortunately they were only able to help us to a limited extent or at short notice. The electrical problems occurred repeatedly, which cost us a weekend in Adelaide because there was no mechanic there on Saturdays who could fix the electrical problems. In Gracetown near Margaret River, we waited three days in vain for a response, help or a workshop address to fix the "engine oil" error messages. To make matters worse, workshops will not carry out repairs without the rental company's approval, even if you are willing to pay for them with your own credit card. After waiting in vain for three days, we were no longer willing to spend any more of our holiday in front of fully booked campsites. At least the oil change indicated by the error message was carried out in Perth, so we could at least continue our journey. The electrical problems were not fixed here either. It was only in the last three days of our holiday (out of six weeks) that we were offered help in finding a repair shop. This would have meant losing even more days of our holiday, and the company could have put the vehicle back into the rental fleet immediately after we returned it. We lost five days of our holiday and countless hours over several days trying to reach customer support by phone or email. We filed a complaint after our holiday. After 14 days, we still have not received a response.

Motorhome was in poor condition. Leaks at windows (pictured) and air conditioning. Lights were flashing or did not work. Refrigerator and beds smelled and the floor was dirty (photo). Alarm signal when starting, key battery was dead and brakes probably worn out.
