After that, stop at Tobermory, which feels like you might be in the Caribbean (except a lot colder) as it has incredible turquoise waters. You must then book the Chi-Cheemaun ferry to reach Manitoulin Island (the world's largest freshwater island). Once there you can drive through lovely villages and untouched landscapes. Ottawa to Thousand Islands

It's named after the enormous rock formation that looks like a giant lying on its back from a distance. Once you see it, you won't be able to unsee it. Walk up to the top of the giant, about 700 feet above Lake Superior, and appreciate being out in the wild. You won't believe how beautiful Ontario is.

Bonnechere Caves
This ancient cave was formed millions of years ago and today, you can walk through the tunnels, and check out the fossils embedded in the walls. There are guided tours so you get to hear all about the history. If you visit in the summer, they are a great place to escape the heat as they stay cool all year round.
