The van was clean but the levels had not been done and when we had driven barely 400 km the van broke down (electrical failure) no help was provided, assistance refused to repatriate us before our flight because the cost of repatriation was too expensive according to them. Stuck for 3 days without assistance on a 10-day trip with 2 children. We ran out of food and water. A mechanic came but couldn't find the fault. We had to leave on our own, which cost us €600 out of pocket. Let's hope that we'll at least be reimbursed for these extra costs, as we won't get back the days of holiday we lost...

Staff at the handover and return were extremely friendly. However, the employee at the handover could not speak a word of English. The Weinsberg brand vehicle was no longer as good as new after almost 60,000 kilometres. Some of the hinges were rusty. The roof bed had no slatted frame and was only moderately comfortable. The cooking equipment is very spartan. No proper pots, no pans, plastic glasses and crockery, tin cups. No proper coffee machine, no filter attachment and no pot for brewing coffee. Otherwise, the vehicle did its job faithfully and did not let us down. The wet room is a challenge for people over 1.80 metres tall. Roadsurfer also had Hymer or Bürstner vehicles. These would be a little more comfortable and better equipped. We don't know why we were given the rather basic Weinsberg. We had our own motorhome for over 20 years and are therefore used to better. Overall, however, the offer was fine. However, a vehicle I booked in Finland in 2024, also via Camperdays, was better in every respect.
